Canon Extender 1.4x III with Sigma 150-600 Aug 3, 2021 Hi all, I have read reports albeit 2-3 years ago, that the canon 1.4 extender Mk III did work with the sigma 150-600 Contemporary and Sport. Reports then go on to say that there was an Err message stating no communication between lens and body. Yes, TC and cropping is no good. I do have the Sigma TC for the 150-600 and the Canon 1.4 iii extender I use with the old Canon 400 f5.6. I really was never too happy with the results of either of them on my 6Dii or 80D, but I have to say I'm getting some pretty usable images using the EOS R with the adapter.. I just rented the 800 f11 and it's Rick, I sold the EF 2X III several years before I picked up the R5 and R6. I bought it mainly out of curiosity and just didn't like the IQ hit using the 5D mark IV and EF 100-400L II. I also have the EF 1.4X III, which was/is manageable on that rig with proper light and some post but it didn't transfer, to my liking, on the R's. In reply to landscaper1 • Oct 15, 2017. Saw a YouTube video by Milky Way Mike who compared the 1.4x and 2x Tamron teleconverters with the 150-600. The 1.4x performed better than the 2x. I use the 1.4x with a crop sensor body and the results are stellar. TylerQ's gear list: Fujifilm X-H2S. Reply Reply with quote Reply to thread Complain. The aperture of the 100-300mm f2.8 with a 2x tele is not THAT much bigger than the aperture of say a sigma 150-600mm at 600 f6.3 (still, the Canon here is a good 27% bigger) but it's also capable of going to 100mm, not just 150mm, which can really help and at nearly 2 stops faster on the "wide" end. Before I bought the 100-400 I stood outside the camera store and tried it alongside the 150-600 (sports, I think), and the 1.4 TC on both. I thought the 100-400 with the 1.4 was 'better' than the sigma without (sharper, quicker focus). The TC didn't degrade the image on the sigma but did slow the focus down a bit. 57B1m. 2. Hi ajamils, My SIGMA 60-600 mm f/4.5-6.4 is a really cool lens, used with my EOS R, it's produces very sharp images, even at 600 mm, very good for compressed landscape photography, wildlife, close-up nature and sports. IMHO, it is more versatile than the 150-600 C. Extends the master lens focal length by 1.4x. Outstanding image quality. Highly resistant to dust and water. £ 479.99. From £20.00 per month 1. Obviously, buying the extender would be a lot cheaper and lighter than carrying around another heavy zoom. The Tamron would give me a little more reach, albeit the reviews say it's quite soft above 500mm. Still a little more reach vs. 400mm. The incredible Sigma Super Telephoto 800mm f/5.6 EX DG APO HSM Autofocus lens is also an apochromatic-design lens and is available for Canon EF, Nikon F, and Sigma SA cameras. Sigma 500mm f/4 DG OS HSM Sports Lens for Canon EF. Sigma also offers two 150-600mm zoom lenses. There are a few lenses that give a similar, but slightly different, focal length range to a 150-600mm - and below are some of those which are worth considering: (Image credit: Future) 5. Canon RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM. Not a 150-600mm - but a great option for Canon full-frame mirrorless. Specifications.
